What is MTN Contract Protector?
- MTN Contract Protector insures you against the financial consequences of death. In the event that you die, we will provide a maximum of R25,000 and a minimum of R5,000 death benefit coverage for the duration of your MTN Contract.
-The benefit will be paid to MTN to fulfil the estate’s contractual obligation to MTN.
How do payments of claims happen?
If the outstanding contractual balance to MTN is less than R5,000 - the outstanding contractual balance to MTN will be paid to MTN and the difference between R5,000 and the outstanding contractual amount will be paid to your Beneficiary.
For example:
a) Your outstanding contractual liability to MTN is R2,000.
b) MTN will be paid R2,000 to settle Your outstanding contractual liability to MTN.
c) Your Beneficiary will be paid R3,000 (R5,000 - R2,000).
If the outstanding contractual balance to MTN is greater than R5,000 - only the outstanding contractual balance will be paid to MTN, subject to a maximum of R25,000.
What is required to enroll for MTN Contract Protector?
You must:
- be a registered South African MTN customer, be the user of the applicable cell phone number and have a registered South African national identity number; and
- have a contract with MTN (Subscriber Agreement); and
- be a permanent resident in South Africa; and
- be from ages 18 to 65 years old when you register for the Policy; and
- have given consent to register for MTN Contract Protector and
acknowledge that you have read, understand and accept these Terms and Conditions.
Can I have more than 1 MTN Contract Protector?
- You can have up to four (4) MTN Contract Protector policies at the same time.
- Only one MTN subscriber agreement will be covered by a single MTN Contract Protector Policy.
- An additional premium will be added to your monthly debit order for each Contract Protector policy that you have.
How do I pay for my premium?
Premium will be deducted from your bank account on the same date as the monthly MTN contract amount is deducted from your bank account.
What is my beneficiary?
In the event of the death of the Policyholder, the contractual liability of the Policyholder will be paid to MTN.
What are the waiting periods?
In the event of death due to natural causes, a waiting period of 3 months will apply to Your MTN Contract Protector policy, during which period only claims in respect of Accidental Death (excluding suicide) will be covered immediately.
Where can I get my policy document or proof of cover?
You will receive a Policy Schedule and Terms and Conditions, providing proof of cover, shortly after you have signed-up for Contract Protector.
How do I log a claim?
- The claimant must submit the claim within 6 (six) months of the event occurring.
- They may contact 083 123 6084 or email cpclaims@admyntec.co.za to report or file a claim and provide the following documents:
- Identification (Policyholder and Beneficiaries); and
- Evidence of death (passing away): Death certificate, medical certificate cause of death. In the event of a death due to an Accident, we will require the policy of accident reports.
How do I submit documents for a death claim?
You may log a call back by calling or emailing the provider on cpclaims@admyntec.co.za. We will advise what documents will be needed in order to assess and settle the claim quickly. Alternatively call the MTN number (+27) 083 123 6084 and log a call back request.
How quickly are claims paid out?
Claims will be assessed, and a decision will be made within 2 (two) business days of receipt of all required claims documentation.
How do I terminate my policy?
The policy will terminate on, and the cover shall cease, in the event of;
- a failure by the Policyholder to pay the Premiums in terms of this MTN Contract Protector policy on the due date thereof and the Policyholder fails to remedy such failure within the Grace Period; or
- the Policyholder or the insurer cancelling this policy in accordance with the terms and conditions; or
- upon the date Your initial MTN Subscriber Agreement ends or the date You choose to terminate Your MTN Subscriber Agreement; or
- upon Your death.
After this MTN Contract Protector policy has been terminated as described in points above, We will remove the MTN Contract Protector line item from Your MTN invoice.
